If your kit is not on this list, count the knobs and switch positions on your own control cavity before you solder anything. A different control count needs a different diagram.
Before you start
- Wire colors change between production batches. Match by position, not by color.
- All grounds run to the bridge ground, as marked on the diagram.
- Check continuity with a multimeter before you string the guitar up.
- Tin your wire ends and the pot backs first. It makes every joint after that easier.
Cannot find a diagram for your kit? We will draw one for you
If you are building a Guitar Kit World kit, you will get a wiring diagram. Every time. If nothing in our library matches your electronics, send us photos of your control cavity, your pickups and your switch, and we will draw a diagram specific to your build.
Send your photos to support@guitarkitworld.com with your order number or kit SKU.
Clear, well lit photos get a faster answer. We need to see the back of the pots, the switch terminals, and the wires coming out of each pickup.
