Our Story
Guitar Kit World was founded in 2013 in Australia by guitar enthusiasts who believed anyone should be able to build their own instrument. Marty Banner, one of the original founders, built the brandās early reputation through hands-on build guides, detailed tutorials, and a deep understanding of what builders actually need.
Over the years, the business grew into the largest online destination for DIY guitar kits. Today, Guitar Kit World is owned and operated by Maker Kit World LLC, a U.S.-based company registered in Wyoming. We ship from warehouses in the United States and internationally to over 100 countries.
The mission has not changed: be the best place online for DIY guitar builders ā the widest range of original kit designs, the most complete library of build tutorials, and a support team that helps you finish every build.

What Makes Our Kits Different

Original Designs Only
We do not copy factory guitars or relabel generic imports. Every body shape, wood pairing, and hardware selection is designed in-house. Over 40 body shapes across 250+ products.

Natural Wood Canvases
Our kits arrive unfinished. You choose the color, the finish, the setup. Every kit carries the Guitar Kit World stamp ā but the instrument you build is 100% yours. Design your own in our Custom Shop.

Authentication Built In
Genuine Guitar Kit World kits are branded in three places: on the packaging, inside the neck pocket, and on the back of the neck heel. Learn how to verify authenticity.
On Stage, In Workshops, In Classrooms
Our kits end up in places you would not expect ā from university classrooms to concert stages.

Southern Arkansas University
15 honor students built custom electric guitars from our kits as part of a 17-week instrument building course. The finished guitars were displayed at the Brinson Fine Art Gallery in Magnolia, Arkansas.
