Two kit formats, and how to choose between them
Almost every group build comes down to one question: how much shop time do you have, and how much of the woodworking do you want your group to do?
Blank bodies, for partners with a shop and time
The body arrives as an unshaped blank. Your group cuts, routs, sands, and drills it themselves, then fits the hardware. This is the format for luthiers running multi-week classes, career-technical programs, and makerspaces with a bandsaw, a router, and dust extraction. It needs a term rather than a weekend, and it needs someone in the room who has done it before. It is also the format that produces an instrument nobody else has.
Shaped and unfinished, for time-boxed group events
The body and neck arrive shaped and drilled. The group sands, finishes, assembles, wires, and sets up. This is the format for a weekend workshop, a camp week, a corporate team build, or any event with a fixed end time, because the schedule risk moves from woodworking to drying time, which you can plan around. Choose a low-solder kit and no soldering iron is needed at all.

What you get from us
A quote for your group size. Bulk pricing is quoted per order, because it depends on the models and the quantity. Sets of 5, 10, and 20 or more are routine. Mixed-model orders are fine, and are usually better for a group of mixed ability.
Paperwork that clears procurement. Formal quote, W-9, and vendor setup details. We accept purchase orders. We cover the US import tariff, so the number on the quote is the number you pay.
A sample kit before you commit. Order one, build it yourself, and find the sticking points before your group does. The sample ships from our US warehouse, usually in under two weeks.
Lead time you can work backward from. Group orders take 6 to 8 weeks depending on models and quantity. Start from your event date and count back at least two months.
Support during the build. Assembly manuals for every kit, wiring diagrams for every configuration, and replacement parts if something is missing or damaged.
What you supply
Sandpaper in two or three grits, and the finish. Screwdrivers, hex keys, a nut driver, a ruler, wire cutters, and a tuner, all shared across the group. A soldering iron and solder unless you chose a low-solder kit. Ventilation for finishing. And drying space, which is the constraint organizers underestimate most often: twenty bodies need somewhere to hang, in moving air, where nothing will touch them for about a week.
Order one or two spare kits with a group order. In a group of twenty, expect at least one sanded-through body or stripped screw.

Do you run guitar building workshops? No. Independent luthiers and organizations run them, and we supply the kits. Dates and registration for workshops near you are posted in our community.
How long does a group build take? A shaped kit takes 8 to 12 hours of hands-on time spread over 2 to 4 weeks, plus finish drying time between sessions. A blank-body build, where the group shapes the wood, runs closer to a full term.
How far ahead should we order? Group orders take 6 to 8 weeks. Order at least two months before the event. A single sample kit from the US warehouse is much faster, usually under two weeks.
Do you accept purchase orders? Yes. We issue a formal quote, provide a W-9 and vendor setup details, and accept purchase orders.
Do participants need to solder? Not necessarily. Low-solder and solderless kits use connectors instead of soldered joints, which is usually the right call for a one-day event or a younger group.
What is the minimum order? There is no minimum for buying kits. Bulk pricing is quoted per order and starts to apply at sets of five and up.
