This diagram covers three mini humbuckers running through three volume controls, two tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch. We drew it after a builder found that the standard three-humbucker diagram did not match his kit.

If your kit is not on this list, count the knobs and switch positions on your own control cavity before you solder anything. A different control count needs a different diagram.

Before you start

  • Set the unused pickup volumes toward zero for cleaner switching between positions.
  • All grounds run to the bridge ground, so a clean bridge ground connection is what keeps it hum free.
  • Wire colors change between production batches. Match by position, not by color.
  • Some of these kits arrive with the harness pre-soldered. If yours does and it does not match this diagram, send us a photo before desoldering anything.
