EU Returns and Right of Withdrawal

This policy applies to consumers in the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It sets out your statutory right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, in addition to our standard returns policy. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.

Who we are

Seller: Maker Kit World LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, trading as Guitar Kit World.

Your right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier that you nominate, take physical possession of the goods. If your order is delivered in several parts, the period runs from the day you receive the last item. You may also withdraw at any time between placing your order and delivery.

How to withdraw

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement. You may:

  • Use the withdrawal function on our website (the "Withdraw from contract" page), or
  • Send a clear statement by email to support@guitarkitworld.com, or
  • Complete and send the model withdrawal form at the end of this policy (using the form is optional).

Any clear statement of your decision to withdraw is valid. We will acknowledge receipt of your withdrawal without delay, on a durable medium, by email. To meet the deadline, it is enough that you send your communication before the 14-day period expires.

Returning the goods

  • We will tell you where to send the goods. We use return points and authorised partners located within the EU, so in most cases you will return the goods to an address inside the EU that we provide when you withdraw. In some cases we may tell you that you do not need to return the goods.
  • You must send the goods back without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of telling us that you withdraw. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the 14-day period expires.
  • You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Because we use return points within the EU, this is normally ordinary parcel shipping within the EU. We will tell you the return address and the expected cost when you withdraw.

Refunds

  • We will reimburse all payments received from you, including the standard cost of delivery, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we receive the goods back, or from the day you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier.
  • We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back, or until you have supplied proof that you have sent them, whichever is earlier.
  • We will use the same means of payment you used for the original transaction, and you will not be charged any fee for the refund itself.
  • Reimbursement of delivery costs is limited to the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.

Condition of the goods and reduction in value

You may handle and inspect the goods as you would in a shop, to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning. You are only liable for any reduction in the value of the goods that results from handling beyond that. Our products are build-it-yourself guitar kits, so assembling, soldering, gluing, finishing, or otherwise using the kit goes beyond what is needed to inspect it. If you do so, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value, up to the full price where the kit can no longer be sold as new. We will assess condition from photos you provide or from the returned goods, and we will document the basis for any reduction.

Custom Shop kits: made to order, no right of withdrawal

Custom Shop kits are made to your specifications and built to order for you individually. Under Article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU, goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or are clearly personalised are not subject to the right of withdrawal. The kits in our Custom Shop collection are therefore excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal. For these made-to-order kits, our voluntary cancellation policy applies instead: you may cancel within 5 days of placing your order at no charge. After 5 days, a 150 USD cancellation fee applies, because our team has already begun building your kit.
